IBA Group in Louvain-la-Neuve is seeking an R&D Automation Engineer to support its Proton Therapy division, developing and implementing control system software and managing hardware/software specifications. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and provide post-startup technical support.

The role requires 3+ years in automation, PLC/SCADA experience, and strong knowledge of industrial IT and safety PLCs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation Engineering or Industrial IT.
• Minimum of 3 years in automation.
• Experience in PLC programming (Siemens STEP7, TIA Portal, B&R) or willingness to receive Siemens training.
• Experience in SCADA programming (Wonderware InTouch; B&R Visual Component is a plus).
• Knowledge of industrial IT programming (.Net, Python, SQL, Web), Safety PLCs (Siemens, B&R), and industrial protocols (Profibus-DP, PROFINET, ModbusTCP, S7, OPC-UA).
• Analytical and solution-oriented; collaborative team player; fluent in English (B2) and French (C1); driver’s license (B); willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with team to analyze automation projects and define hardware and software specifications.
• Develop and implement control system software through analysis, programming, testing, and commissioning, ensuring QMS guidelines.
• Own and manage a specific control unit and its software solutions post-onboarding, including work packages and quality standards.
• Provide technical support after system startup to customers and internal teams.
