Fluxys is looking for a Project Leader Gas Infrastructure in Brussels to lead technical, budgetary, organizational and administrative aspects of planning and rolling out projects to modify or expand Fluxys' gas infrastructure in line with safety and regulatory standards.

You will manage construction, modification, and optimization projects for stations and installations, while coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering and relevant project experience.
• 3–5 years of experience as a project manager or project engineer.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English or willingness to improve.

The Installation Projects team within the Projects Belgian Operations Department at Fluxys, based in Brussels, is looking for a Project Leader Gas Infrastructure (m/f/x).

The Projects Belgian Operations Department implements challenging infrastructure projects, ranging from the optimisation of existing pipelines and installations to the construction of new assets, all with a distinct focus on safety, quality and network reliability.

Job purpose

You will be responsible for the technical, budgetary, organisational and administrative aspects of planning and rolling out projects to modify or expand Fluxys' infrastructure in line with safety and quality regulations and applicable regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the general management of projects related to the construction, modification and renovation of our (existing) stations. The very wide variety of projects includes the renovation and modification of existing gas infrastructure, the expansion of installations, the new construction of gas infrastructure, initiatives aimed at reducing CH4 and CO2 emissions, biogas injection projects and innovative developments contributing to the energy transition, as well as the renovation or new construction of warehouses and offices.
• You will ensure that these projects run smoothly from start to finish.
• Working with various internal departments and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for compiling the required documents and plans, permit applications, specifications and orders. You will coordinate all the teams involved and make sure that they are all on the same page.
• During the implementation phase, you will take care of administrative and technical management, quality control, compliance with safety and security standards, the budget and schedule, and the coordination of various service providers.
• This job provides flexibility and variety in a dynamic and project-based environment.

About you

• You have a master's degree in industrial, civil, electromechanical, chemical or energy engineering.
• Between three and five years of relevant experience as a project manager or project engineer would be an advantage.
• You are flexible and have good organisational skills.
• You are results-focused and have strong, and creative, problem-solving skills.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enjoy cooperation and negotiation and know how to motivate others.
• You have a strong analytical and critical mind combined with a pragmatic, field-based approach.
• You are business fluent in Dutch, French and English (or are willing to further develop your skills in this regard).
• Cumulative experience in civil engineering, electrical and instrumentation (E&I), automation and piping would be an asset.
• You attach a great deal of importance to safety. Holding a Coordinator LevelB certificate and/or a Safety Certificate for Contractors (SCC) would be an advantage, and those not doing so must be willing to obtain these certificates.
• You must be willing to make frequent trips to our stations in Belgium, as well as occasional short trips abroad.
• You have a categoryB driving licence.
