Fluxys is seeking a Driver/Fitter for its Intervention Centre in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, Belgium. You will receive extensive in-house training and progress to operating all workshop and on-site vehicles, supporting welders and fitters on the gas grid.

The role is a 12-month starter contract for those under 26, with opportunities to learn, travel within Belgium, and develop a career in a growing energy group. Based at the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw centre, you will transport staff and equipment to sites,

Qualifications

• Fluent in Dutch and good command of French.
• A2diploma in a technical field (mechanics, electromechanics or equivalent).
• Category B driving licence required.
• Starter contract for under 26 years old (Rosetta Plan).

Responsabilités

• Undergo extensive in-house training and become qualified to operate all vehicles used at the Intervention Centre.
• Based initially at the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw centre, with transport of staff/equipment to sites across Belgium.
• Assist welders/fitters on the Fluxys natural gas grid and support assembly work in workshops.
• Carry out tests (strength and leak-tightness) as required by workshop managers.

To this end, our teams are ready 24hours a day to carry out all kinds of scheduled and unscheduled work on our gas transmission facilities, as well as adapting, repairing and building such facilities.

Job purpose

As a Driver/Fitter, you support our Intervention Centre both from the workshop and on-site at construction projects throughout Belgium.

Your responsibilities

• You will first undergo extensive in-house training, after which you will be qualified to operate all the vehicles used at the Intervention Centre, on construction sites and on the road, including light vehicles, forklifts and travelling cranes as well as HGVs (with trailers) and automatic loading cranes.
• To begin with, you will mainly be based at the Intervention Centre in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. Following your induction period, you will also transport staff and equipment to sites throughout Belgium from the Ninove depot or the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw Intervention Centre.
• You will assist the welders/fitters in their work on the Fluxys natural gas grid.
• When working in the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw workshops, you will also carry out any necessary assembly work requested by workshop managers/team leaders and will help conduct tests (strength and leak-tightness testing).

About you

• You hold an A2diploma in a technical field (mechanics, electromechanics or equivalent)
• You are curious and motivated, and you enjoy learning and taking on new challenges
• You are reliable, responsible and enjoy working as part of a team
• You are focused on achieving results and are not afraid to take initiative
• You are fluent in Dutch and have a good command of French
• You hold a categoryB driving licence
• You are under 26years of age when you start the position, in accordance with the Rosetta Plan regulations
