Smappee is seeking a seasoned PMO/Portfolio Manager to own and continuously optimize its enterprise project portfolio. You will partner with senior leadership to align initiatives with business priorities, budgets, and available capacity, while driving governance and data-driven decision making.

You will lead cross-functional programs, coach the PMO team, and promote collaboration across R&D, Product, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to accelerate strategic outcomes in a fast-growing scale-up.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

Portfolio strategy & governance

• Own and continuously optimize Smappee's enterprise project portfolio, ensuring initiatives are strategically aligned with business priorities and available execution capacity.
• Partner with the senior leadership to evaluate, prioritize, sequence and challenge new initiatives based on business value, dependencies, risks, resources and financial impact.
• Establish and maintain portfolio governance, providing clear visibility into project status, capacity, risks, budgets and delivery performance.

Strategic project leadership

• Personally lead the company's most business‑critical, cross‑functional and high‑impact strategic initiatives.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while balancing quality, customer impact and organizational priorities.
• Drive alignment across R&D, Product Management, Operations, Sales, Marketing and other business functions.

PMO excellence

• Build and continuously improve project management methodologies, governance frameworks, tools and reporting standards.
• Challenge existing ways of working and drive continuous improvements to increase organizational effectiveness, speed and scalability.
• Define and monitor portfolio KPIs to support data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement.

Leadership

• Lead and coach the (small) Project Management team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous development.
• Provide direction, support and mentoring to Project Managers while directly managing selected strategic programs.
• Promote collaboration across departments and create strong stakeholder engagement throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive experience leading complex, cross‑functional programs and project portfolios within a technology, hardware or software environment.
• Proven success in establishing or leading a PMO or portfolio management function.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate business strategy into executable project roadmaps.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior leadership while building strong partnerships across the organization.
• Excellent financial and business acumen, with experience balancing budgets, resources, capacity and execution priorities.
• Proven experience driving organizational change, process optimization and operational excellence.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑growing, continuously evolving scale‑up environment.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• PMP, PgMP, PMI Portfolio Management (PfMP), PRINCE2 or equivalent certification is considered an asset.
