Job summary

UHasselt invites applications for an Associate Research Professor/Professor in Molecular Translational Research to build an internationally oriented program translating molecular findings into clinical applications.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with biomedical researchers, data scientists, and clinicians, and secure external funding while balancing research and teaching commitments.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant biomedical field; strong academic track record with first/last author publications in international journals.
• At least 5 years of postdoctoral research experience in molecular translational research.
• Experience with teaching is an asset.
• Excellent publications record and presentations at international conferences.
• Extensive international research network in the field.
• Ability to secure external (international) research funding.
• Experience supervising doctoral, technical and/or master students.
• Proven academic leadership and collaboration in interdisciplinary projects.
• Complementarity with existing expertise in the faculty is valued.

Responsibilities

• Establish an internationally oriented research program in molecular translational research.
• Collaborate closely with biomedical researchers, data scientists and clinicians.
• Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team and oversee doctoral/master student supervision.
• Contribute to education within undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Seek external funding and manage research projects within BIOMED and UHasselt.
