The candidate may have a focus on various mechanisms of cross-talks involving paracrine and/or juxtacrine signaling. Ideally, the candidate will develop and/or make use of innovative reductionist (i.e. 3D tumoroid models) or in vivo models (i.e. mouse genetics, in vivo lineage tracing, PDXs,) and establish clinical relevance using human clinical samples.
A dedicated focus on a specific cancer indication (i.e. brain tumors, pancreatic cancer, ) and/or underlying biological process (metastatic dissemination, lymph node involvement, circulating tumor cells, specific tumor & micro-environment interactions etc.) is considered a plus.
The official language used at KU Leuven is Dutch. If you do not speak Dutch (or do not speak it well) at the start of employment, KU Leuven will provide language training to enable you to take part in meetings. Before teaching courses in Dutch or English, you will be given the opportunity to learn Dutch, respectively English, to the required standard.
