Job summary

Ghent University in Belgium invites applications for a three-year temporary research appointment in linguistics, with a strong emphasis on ERC Starting Grant activities. You will devote at least 70% of your time to scientific research in your linguistic specialization, report at meetings, and publish results in recognized international journals and/or books.

The role includes collaboration with one or more research groups within the department, annual workshops to share methodological expertise,

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in linguistics or equivalent.
• At least one year of postdoctoral seniority at appointment.
• Ability to apply for ERC Starting Grant in 2027, 2028 and/or 2029 calls.
• Strong international publication record and research funding achievements.

Responsibilities

• Focus at least 70% of research on your linguistic specialization.
• Present regularly at scientific meetings and publish results in international journals/books.
• Engage in research activities with departmental groups and collaborate with researchers.
• Offer an annual workshop to share methodological expertise and contribute to teaching/outreach as needed.
