Job summary

Ghent University seeks a post-doctoral assistant in the Department of Educational Sciences to advance research in teacher education, language education, and professional development, while helping fundraise for these areas. You will teach within the Educational Sciences program and/or Master’s in Primary Education, and supervise doctoral students.

You will also act as a thesis examiner, support internships, organize events, and contribute to the department's external services.

Qualifications

• You hold a doctoral degree (Educational Sciences) to start the appointment.
• Proven research record with publications in international and national journals.
• Experience in educational research, both scientific and project-based, is essential.

Responsibilities

• devote 70% time to academic research in educational sciences, including teacher education, professional development, and language education, with fundraising in these areas.
• Assist with teaching in Educational Sciences and/or the Master’s in Primary Education as instructor or co-instructor.
• Supervise doctoral students in collaboration with an administrator; guide internships and master’s theses.
• Serve as thesis examiner and contribute to internal and external services (exams, information days, conferences).
• Engage in project coordination and contribute to department services.
