Job summary

Ghent University invites applications for Teaching and Research Assistant positions in the Department of Economics. Successful candidates will split time between conducting research towards a doctoral dissertation and supporting teaching activities across economics courses.

Strong interest in scientific research and didactic/communication skills are essential. Dutch knowledge is recommended and the earliest start date is 1 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics or equivalent; top 20% ranking.
• MaNaMa in Economics is an asset.
• GRE/GMAT scores required for non-EEA master’s degrees.
• Certificates of equivalence may be required for non-EU diplomas.

Responsibilities

• Dedicate at least 50% of appointment to research towards a doctoral dissertation.
• Support teaching activities in general economics courses.
• Supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses across programmes.
• Contribute to internal and external service activities.
