KU Leuven in Leuven, Belgium, invites applications for a PhD position examining interreligious dialogue in Morocco. The project combines anthropology, theology and education to explore Jewish-Muslim heritage, diversity and classroom practices through ethnographic fieldwork in Southern Morocco and comparative dialogue with Flanders.

You will join a small research team, conduct qualitative research, participate in fieldwork, analyze narratives of dialogue and tolerance, and contribute to a PhD

Qualifications

• Master's degree in anthropology or a related discipline.
• Strong experience with qualitative and ethnographic research.
• Interest in religious diversity and interreligious dialogue.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and conduct qualitative and ethnographic research on interreligious dialogue and religious diversity in Morocco.
• Carry out extended fieldwork in Morocco and the Southern region.
• Conduct ethnographic research in Jewish heritage sites and educational settings.
• Analyze how participants experience and negotiate dominant narratives concerning dialogue, tolerance and coexistence.
• Publish scientific articles and work towards a PhD dissertation.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences.
• Complete KU Leuven PhD programme with co-supervision from Rabat.
• Collaborate with researchers to handle project responsibilities.
• Provide teaching assistance or other tasks for 10% of time.
