KU Leuven invites applications for a one-year full-time doctoral position in Religious Studies, starting February 1, 2027, renewable up to four years, under Prof. Moyaert and Prof. Fadil.

The project investigates interreligious dialogical learning in Flemish education, with an emphasis on power relations, inclusion, and ethical education. Eligibility requires a Research Master’s degree or equivalent, strong interest in qualitative ethnographic research, and fluency in Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• Education aligned with proposed doctoral research and subject matter.
• Demonstrable interest in qualitative empirical research and ethnography.
• Strong motivation for religious education, diversity, and dialogue.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and conduct qualitative and ethnographic research on interreligious dialogical learning in Flemish education.
• Collect empirical data via observation, interviews, and document analysis.
• Analyze dialogical practices with focus on power, normativity, inclusion, and ethics.
• Contribute to theory by linking findings to theology, anthropology and education.
• Write scholarly articles and defend a doctoral dissertation.
