Job summary

Yara International ASA in Belgium is seeking an Operational Technology Engineer to bridge production and digital initiatives. You will own connectivity between the OT environment and cloud, supervise data flow from global plants, and ensure security and documentation standards are met.

The role requires a structured, analytical professional with a bachelor’s in automation or computer science, 7 years in industrial settings, and hands-on experience with OPC UA, SQL, PowerShell, and cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Computer Science, Industrial Connectivity, or a related field.
• Experience in technical environments or collaborative roles within complex system development.
• 7 years of experience in industrial production, automation control systems, or OT connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Platform Responsibility & Collaboration: main contact between technical teams and site automation/digital teams to align global platform goals with local operational needs.
• Connectivity Ownership: design, establish, and maintain connectivity between the digital platform and existing critical OT systems.
• Architecture & Scalability: ensure the platform architecture is fit for purpose and enables scalable cloud components (e.g., Grafana).
• Data Flow & Management: own solutions bringing production data to the cloud; oversee end-to-end data flow using OPC UA, SQL, PowerShell, or CLI.
• Device Deployment: manage integration and deployment of hardware and sensors (IoT, Radar, Lidar) into OT environment.
• Documentation Hygiene: lead requirements documentation using Jira and Confluence.
• LEAN Mindset: drive continuous improvement to simplify OT–cloud bridges.
• Security & Troubleshooting: follow security best practices; travel to production sites when needed.
