Job summary

Pauwels Consulting seeks an Automation Engineer to join its security team in Brussels. The role focuses on implementing OT security solutions for production networks and bridging automation with IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a degree in automation and hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA/DCS, plus profiling of Profinet, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP networks, with solid IP addressing, VLANs, switching and routing knowledge. Dutch and English fluency required.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master in Automation, Electromechanics, Electronics-ICT or similar.
Experience with PLC, SCADA and DCS in industrial settings.
Knowledge of Profinet, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP networking protocols.
Foundational networking: IP addressing, VLANs, switching and routing.

Responsibilities

Execute OT cybersecurity projects at industrial client sites from inventory to delivery.
Map industrial networks and assets for visibility and security.
Implement network segmentation and configure firewalls, switches, and secure remote access.
Establish and maintain monitoring systems for OT networks.
Perform testing and commissioning of security solutions with client schedules.
Provide technical documentation for network architectures and changes.
