Job summary

Axis Group is seeking an OPS Clearing Associate to oversee payment flows, manage discrepancies, and ensure accurate processing of domestic and international transactions. The role involves handling refunds, transfers, SWIFT messages, and card-related settlements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's in economics/finance/administration/accounting required.
• Fluent in French, Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of banking environment and SWIFT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor domestic and international payment flows for accurate processing.
• Handle discrepancies, incidents, and exceptions in payments and communicate with parties involved.
• Manage refunds, declined transactions, and transfer recalls; process SWIFT messages.
• Process and verify checks and follow up administratively.
• Execute treasury transfers and monitor according to finance guidelines.
• Ensure timely transfers to Visa/Mastercard for card transactions.
• Track and resolve specific credit card transactions and refunds.
• Participate in testing phases for new releases and systems.

• You will closely monitor domestic and international payment flows to ensure the prompt and accurate processing of all transactions;
• You will handle discrepancies, incidents, and exceptions related to incoming and outgoing payments, seek solutions, and communicate with the parties involved;
• You manage refunded amounts, declined transactions, and transfer recalls, and process SWIFT messages;
• You process and track domestic and foreign checks, including the necessary verifications and administrative follow-up;
• You execute treasury transfers and financial transactions and monitor them in accordance with the finance department’s guidelines;
• You ensure the timely execution of transfers to Visa and Mastercard so that the required funds are available for card transactions;
• You track, analyze, and resolve specific credit card transactions, including corrections, refunds, and cases from the collections department;
• You actively participate in testing phases for new releases and systems, focusing on functional and non-regression tests to ensure the quality of processes;
• You coordinate and support projects related to payment transactions and regulations (such as PSD3 and the Instant Payment Regulation) in collaboration with internal departments and external partners;
• You contribute to innovation, process optimization, and the implementation of new technological and regulatory developments, while working closely with colleagues and serving as a backup for other team members when necessary.

• Holds a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a field related to economics, finance, administration, or accounting;
• Has an excellent command of French, Dutch, and English, both written and spoken;
• Is proficient in using MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook;
• Preferably has knowledge of the banking environment and experience with specific applications, such as SWIFT;
• Has at least 2 years of work experience in a similar position, which is a plus;
• Is also open to motivated entry-level candidates who are willing to further develop their skills;
