Plouvier Group N.V. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to be the link between our inland tanker fleet and shore teams. You will coordinate day-to-day vessel operations, communicate with Captains and crew, and drive quick and long-term resolutions to operational and technical challenges.

The role requires practical maritime knowledge, ownership mentality, and strong English communication. Dutch and German are advantageous as we work across European inland shipping routes.

Qualifications

• Experience in inland shipping, tanker shipping or a comparable maritime environment.
• Good understanding of vessel operations, maintenance and life onboard.
• Experience working with Captains, crew or technical teams.
• Practical, solution-oriented mindset and ownership mentality.
• Fluent English; Dutch and German are a plus.

At Plouvier, we operate a modern fleet of 20 inland tanker vessels sailing across the Rhine and the ports of Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

We are looking for an Operations Manager who enjoys being at the heart of our inland shipping operations: someone who communicates easily with crew, understands life onboard and can turn operational and technical challenges into practical solutions.

Your role

As Operations Manager, you are the link between our vessels and shore-based organisation.

You work closely with Captains and crew, ensuring operational and technical issues are followed up quickly and effectively.

Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the day-to-day operations of our inland tanker fleet
• Maintaining direct contact with Captains and crew
• Following up operational and technical issues from identification to resolution
• Finding practical solutions to technical and operational problems
• Coordinating repairs, maintenance and technical interventions
• Supporting Captains when problems arise onboard
• Coordinating with workshops, shipyards, suppliers and internal teams
• Monitoring vessel condition and operational performance
• Supporting maintenance, inspections and dry-dock planning
• Identifying recurring issues and working on long-term improvements

What we are looking for

We are looking for a maritime professional with technical understanding and communication skills.

You ideally have:

• Experience in inland shipping, tanker shipping or a comparable maritime environment
• A good understanding of vessel operations, maintenance and life onboard
• Experience working with Captains, crew or technical teams
• A practical and solution-oriented mindset
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MARAD
• The ability to take ownership and make decisions
• Good communication skills and a hands-on approach
• Good command of English; Dutch and German

Experience as a Captain, Chief Engineer, Superintendent, Technical Superintendent or similar maritime position is highly valued.
