WLG in Brussels is seeking a production DBA with strong PostgreSQL and MySQL experience to manage standalone and clustered deployments across development, test and live environments.

The role emphasizes tuning, replication, recovery, capacity planning and close coordination with application and infra teams to keep systems healthy and incidents minimal.

On-site, full-time in Brussels, you will restore from backups, analyse root causes, and produce post-incident reports to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Production experience on PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Experience with replication, clustering and recovery.
• Real query optimisation practice.
• Capacity planning and monitoring instincts.
• Coordination with application and infra teams.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade PostgreSQL 12+ and MySQL 8+, standalone and clustered.
• Run routine maintenance properly — schema housekeeping, index maintenance, statistics, retention.
• Manage users, roles, privileges and authentication on least-privilege lines.
• Forecast storage growth and advise on partitioning and archiving before capacity becomes an incident.
• Troubleshoot production problems: data corruption, replication failures, performance degradation.
• Monitor database health — lock contention, deadlocks, wait events, replication lag, resource use.
• Analyse and optimise query performance, with execution plans and InnoDB tuning as everyday tools.
• Produce root cause analysis for critical incidents and keep environments consistent.
