WLG in Brussels is seeking a Production DBA to manage PostgreSQL and MySQL engines across development, test and live environments. The role focuses on tuning, backups, replication, and incident root-cause analysis to prevent future outages.

The ideal candidate has solid production experience with both databases, understands replication and clustering, and works closely with application and infrastructure teams to keep systems reliable and scalable.

Qualifications

• Solid production experience on PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Replication, clustering and recovery experience that has been tested.
• Real query optimisation practice on both engines.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade PostgreSQL and MySQL in standalone and clustered setups.
• Run routine maintenance: schema housekeeping, index maintenance, statistics, retention.
• Manage users, roles, privileges and authentication on least-privilege lines.
• Forecast storage growth and advise on partitioning and archiving.
• Troubleshoot production problems: data integrity, replication issues, performance problems.
• Monitor database health: lock contention, deadlocks, replication lag, resource use.
• Analyse and optimise query performance with execution plans for both engines.
• Produce root cause analyses for critical incidents and keep environments consistent.
