Job summary

JERA Nex bp is seeking an experienced HSSE Advisor to support safe, compliant and efficient operations across four offshore wind farms in Belgium. You will provide visible field support, expert HSSE guidance, and practical assurance to leaders, OEMs and contractors.

The role requires five years’ HSSE experience in offshore environments, knowledge of Control of Work, permits to work and risk assessment, and the ability to coach leaders while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in HSSE, engineering or science with professional membership or equivalent competence.
• Minimum five years’ experience delivering HSSE in offshore wind or high-hazard environments.
• Strong knowledge of offshore wind O&M activities and contractor management.
• Experience in field assurance, inspections and audits of critical controls.
• Experience applying ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 principles in operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as HSSE advisor to O&M leadership in Ostend, ensuring safe, compliant operations.
• Lead HSSE improvement plans with leaders, supervisors, and contractors.
• Conduct field verification across offshore/onshore operations for compliance.
• Oversee critical controls related to fatalities, working at height and lifting.
• Provide HSSE oversight of OEMs, marine contractors, and service providers.
• Monitor HSSE metrics and escalate risk when needed.
• Support emergency response readiness and environmental risk management.
• Coach leaders in safety leadership and risk management.
