Jobtailor is seeking a technically skilled specialist to work with defence and security clients. You will design and deploy Palantir Foundry data pipelines, ontology models, and operator-facing apps, ensuring seamless integration of live intelligence into command-and-control tools.

The role requires deep software engineering experience, proficiency in Python/Java/SQL, and the ability to operate in secure, on-site environments across Europe.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics or an equally technical field.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience with pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories, Workbooks and application development.
• Fluency in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash or Go.
• Three years or more of professional software or forward-deployed / solutions engineering experience shipping systems into production.
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar platform architectures and data models and reason about technical decisions' operational impact.
• Experience with containers such as Docker or Podman and orchestration such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Solid Linux, networking and on-premise fundamentals.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel and work on site in secure customer facilities.
• Right to work in the EU, or be UK-based
• Security clearance
• Nice to have: experience delivering software in classified, air-gapped or disconnected environments
• Nice to have: defence, intelligence, national-security or emergency-management background
• Nice to have: geospatial platforms and common-operating-picture tooling such as Esri or ArcGIS, or command-and-control systems
• Nice to have: front-end frameworks and data-rich operator applications
• Nice to have: familiarity with NATO and national defence accreditation and compliance
• Nice to have: a second European language

Responsabilités

• Understand defence and security users' situational-awareness and force-protection needs and scope solutions.
• Design, build and deploy Palantir Foundry data pipelines, ontology models and operator-facing applications.
• Integrate live intelligence into existing workflows, common operating pictures and command-and-control tooling.
• Build and tune custom widgets when required.
• Own solutions end to end from initial whiteboard sketch through operational deployment.
• Debug infrastructure, networking and application issues across restricted, disconnected or on-premise environments.
• Advise customer engineers and operators and relay feedback into the product.
• Travel to customer sites and operations centres in Europe approximately 25%–75% of the time.
