Job summary

Smile Open Source Solutions in Brussels is seeking a Microsoft 365 Engineer on a freelance basis. Hybrid work model: 2-3 days remote per week. You will administer Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online and drive governance, security, and adoption strategies.

The role requires hands-on experience with Entra ID, Intune, Defender for Office 365/Endpoint, and PowerShell scripting; knowledge of Microsoft Graph API is a plus. English fluency is essential; French/Dutch are a plus.

Qualifications

We are currently looking for a talented Microsoft 365 Engineer (Freelance) to join our dynamic team and work on high-impact projects for one of our major clients.

Position Overview

• Status: Freelance

• Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid model: 2-3 days of remote work per week)

Your Responsibilities

As a Microsoft 365 Engineer, your daily missions will include:

• Administering, configuring, and optimizing the Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive).

• Managing identities and access through Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, and SSO.

• Implementing and maintaining device and application management with Microsoft Intune.

• Ensuring compliance and data protection using Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention policies, sensitivity labels).

• Automating administrative tasks with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.

• Supporting migration projects (on-premises to cloud, tenant-to-tenant).

• Troubleshooting level 2/3 incidents and producing clear technical documentation.

• (For Senior profiles) Advising on M365 governance, security architecture, and adoption strategy.

Profile & Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online).

• Solid knowledge of Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft Defender for Office 365 / Endpoint.

• Good scripting skills in PowerShell; experience with Microsoft Graph API is a plus.

• Understanding of hybrid environments (Active Directory, Entra Connect).

• Microsoft certifications (MS-102, MD-102, SC-300) are a strong asset.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, a service-oriented mindset, and a strong team spirit.

• Language: Professional fluency in English. Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus.
