About the company

Our client is a leading European membership organisation representing the private capital industry, including private equity, venture capital and infrastructure investment. Its members invest in and support businesses at different stages of development, contributing to innovation, entrepreneurship and long-term economic growth.

Through its extensive European network, the organisation provides its members with access to industry research, policy insights, professional training, conferences, working groups and valuable networking opportunities. It also contributes to shaping the regulatory environment for private investment and promotes high standards of governance, transparency and professional conduct across the sector.

Based in Brussels, the organisation operates in an international, relationship-driven environment where credibility, expertise and long-term engagement are essential.

About the job

As Membership Manager, you will play a central role in strengthening relationships with existing member firms, increasing their engagement and securing long-term retention. Reporting to the Head of Membership, you will act as a trusted point of contact, helping members make the most of the organisation’s services, expertise and network.

This is a highly client-facing position, with approximately 70% of your time dedicated to member interaction and 30% to administration, CRM management and reporting.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Proactive member outreach: Identify and prioritise member firms based on their engagement levels and retention risks. Prepare targeted outreach using CRM data, company news and relevant business developments, then initiate conversations by phone, video call or in person.
  • Consultative relationship management: Engage with stakeholders at different levels, from partners and executives to investor relations, business development and marketing professionals. Understand their priorities and recommend relevant membership services, resources and opportunities.
  • Member onboarding and engagement: Guide new members through their first year, helping them move from initial awareness to active participation in events, training, research, working groups and networking activities.
  • Membership value and retention: Build tailored engagement plans, maintain regular contact and identify opportunities to strengthen relationships across multiple teams within each member firm.
  • Networking and cross-team collaboration: Represent the organisation at conferences and events, connect members with relevant contacts and collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities that match their needs.
  • CRM and performance tracking: Maintain accurate records of interactions, monitor engagement and retention indicators, and use KPIs to prioritise actions and improve follow-up.

You will benefit from a structured onboarding period, working closely with the Head of Membership before progressively taking ownership of your portfolio and outreach activities.

About the ideal candidate

You are an experienced, commercially minded professional who enjoys building relationships, engaging with senior stakeholders and creating long-term value.

Your experience and skills
  • At least 7 years of client-facing or member-facing experience.
  • A background in private capital, alternative investments, financial services or a membership-based association is a plus or at least a strong interest in the sector.
  • Strong relationship management and consultative selling skills, with the ability to identify relevant opportunities and understand client needs.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, tracking KPIs and managing structured follow-ups.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are an asset.
Your personality
  • Confident, polished and comfortable engaging with senior professionals.
  • Proactive, commercially aware and naturally inclined to network.
  • Organised, analytical and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Collaborative, adaptable and eager to learn and grow.
