Job summary

Mercor is seeking native Malayalam annotators to annotate and transcribe Malayalam documents with exact script fidelity. You will bound page regions, assign types, and ensure reading order reflects multi-column layouts, including handwritten content.

You must be a native Malayalam speaker with meticulous attention to diacritics and typography, capable of character-level accuracy, and comfortable reviewing colleagues' work as part of a two-expert process.

Qualifications

• Native Malayalam speaker with full command of script and orthography.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, localization, or QA is a plus.
• High emphasis on character-level accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Open provided Malayalam pages and verify language and legibility.
• Annotate page regions with accurate types and reading-order indices.
• Record relationships between regions and figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully in Malayalam script and flag illegible content.
• Capture page metadata and participate in peer review.
