Job summary

Mercor is seeking a meticulous Korean annotator to build and annotate training data for Korean language documents. You will identify and bound every meaningful region on pages, correctly type them, and ensure precise Hangul transcription including hanja where present.

You will work with documents that include multi-column layouts, tables, diagrams, or handwriting, and you will be part of a peer-reviewed workflow to ensure quality across hundreds of pages.

Qualifications

• Native Korean speaker with Hangul mastery.
• Experience in bilingual transcription, translation, editorial work, or AI training data is preferred.
• Exact character-level accuracy and taxonomy consistency are essential.

Responsibilities

• Source publicly accessible Korean PDFs with multimodal elements and record source.
• Annotate structure by bounding every meaningful region (title, heading, paragraph, list, table, figure, caption, etc.) and assign component types and reading order.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figures or tables.
• Transcribe faithfully in Hangul, including hanja, flagging illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata (language, document type, source, page dimensions, handwriting/handwritten content).
• Review a colleague's work through a second-expert review process.
