Job summary

Approach Cyber is seeking a Linux System Engineer to support customers with secure, reliable security appliances and services. You will work in a dynamic team, combining engineering, delivery and consultancy to resolve complex issues and optimize security solutions.

You will handle installation, testing and remote support, while training customers and resellers on advanced features and best practices. A proactive, autonomous self-starter mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ICT or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of computer networks and cybersecurity.
• Extensive knowledge of the Linux command line and high-availability tools (Rsync, Heartbeat).
• Troubleshooting with Wireshark and tcpdump.
• Scripting and automation using Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell or Ansible.
• Experience with VirtualBox, Google Workspace, Request Tracker, Redmine, Git and Azure.
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as Odoo and phishing platforms like Phished.io or KnowBe4 is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support & delivery: installation and administration of the AXS Guard security appliance for internal teams, resellers, and customers.
• Hardware & logistics: assemble, test, ship, install and replace firewalls; create test environments.
• Consultancy & training: advise customers on cybersecurity; train resellers and customers; conduct Health Checks.
• Operations & automation: monitor networks, manage patches and vulnerabilities; automate repetitive tasks.
• Internal IT support: assist with Linux and macOS administration.
• Documentation & ticket follow-up: update Request Tracker and maintain technical documentation.
