Job summary

AXS Guard is seeking a Linux System Engineer to join a dynamic team and help customers resolve complex security issues. You will combine technical support, delivery, infrastructure operations, consultancy and automation to deliver robust security solutions.

You will support installation/administration of the AXS Guard security appliance, diagnose issues from the office or remotely, and create test environments when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ICT or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of networks and cybersecurity including TCP/IP, VPNs and firewalls.
• Extensive knowledge of the Linux command line and common tools.; High-availability tech such as Rsync/Heartbeat.
• Solid troubleshooting experience using Wireshark/tcpdump and log analysis.
• Scripting and automation using Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell or Ansible.
• Experience with VirtualBox, Google Workspace, Request Tracker, Redmine, Git and Azure.
• Knowledge of ERP like Odoo and phishing platforms like Phished.io or KnowBe4 is a plus.
• Customer-focused and able to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Willing to learn and adapt in a dynamic team environment.
• Organised, independent, and able to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support and delivery: install and administer the AXS Guard security appliance for customers and resellers.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues from office or remote tickets and calls.
• Hardware & logistics: assemble, test, ship, install and replace firewalls; create test environments.
• Consultancy & training: advise on cybersecurity, train partners, conduct Health Checks.
• Operations & automation: monitor networks, manage patches, and automate repetitive tasks.
• Internal IT support: assist with Linux and macOS administration.
• Documentation: update tickets and maintain technical docs.
