Unknown Defence Organisation in Belgium is seeking a Linux engineer to install, harden, automate and maintain security tooling in a change-controlled environment.

You will install Linux, monitor systems, automate tests, roll out features inside the protected perimeter and document procedures. Candidates should have a CS degree and experience with Red Hat Linux, Ansible, VMware, and container tooling such as Podman or Docker.

Formación

• BSCS or equivalent with at least one year as a Linux engineer.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux installations and maintenance.
• Automation scripting to support deployment and ops.
• Experience with Ansible and virtualization (VMware).
• Security practices for Linux (firewalls, encryption, access control).
• Red Hat certification preferred (Admin/Engineer).
• Desirable: Satellite, containers (Podman/Docker), observability, and open-source contributions.

Responsabilidades

• Install and monitor Linux OS and apps to secure standards.
• Improve availability, scalability and performance of the tooling estate.
• Build and maintain automation and testing/test docs.
• Prepare upgrades for change management board.
• Roll out features within protected perimeter.
• Document procedures and runbooks.
• Diagnose Linux and directory services integration issues.
• Identify recurring incidents and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with service management on incident/change processes.
