Description du poste

Established in 1972, BEPS International School has spent over 50 years nurturing confident, independent learners and global citizens in the heart of Brussels. Set close to the Bois de la Cambre in one of the city’s most welcoming neighbourhoods, our school serves around 300 students aged 2.5 to 18, drawn from more than 50 nationalities. When you join BEPS, you join a family.
Our inquiry-based learning journey spans three distinct yet connected stages — Early Years (IEYC, ages 2.5–5), Primary (IPC, Years 1–6), and Secondary (IB Middle Years Programme, IB Diploma, and IB Career-related Programme) — all woven together by shared values of curiosity, care, and community.
At BEPS, we are committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) in everything we do. Our Learning Support team is central to this commitment: working alongside classroom teachers, counsellors, and specialist colleagues to ensure every child — whatever their learning profile — can engage meaningfully with our curriculum and thrive.

About the Role

This is a whole-school Learning Support position, spanning Early Years, Primary, and Secondary. It is a rare and exciting opportunity for a specialist who thrives on variety — supporting a toddler’s earliest literacy steps one morning, and coaching an IB student through executive functioning strategies the next.
You will be a key member of our Learning Support team, working closely with students, classroom teachers, parents, and external professionals to identify needs, design targeted support, and ensure every learner has equitable access to a rich and challenging education. At BEPS, learning support is not a separate strand — it is woven into the fabric of our school’s daily life.

Key responsibilities
Student Support - Across All Stages
  • Provide targeted learning support to students from Early Years through Secondary, adapting your approach to suit the developmental stage and curriculum of each learner
  • Deliver focused interventions in areas such as literacy, numeracy, executive functioning, organisation, and study skills
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) that reflect each student’s strengths, needs, and goals
  • Guide students in understanding their own learning profile and building the self-advocacy skills they need to succeed at BEPS and beyond
  • Implement accommodations in line with BEPS's Assessment Policy across all year groups and IB programme requirements
  • Maintain a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, valued, and capable
Collaboration & Co-Teaching
  • Partner with Early Years, Primary, and Secondary teachers to differentiate instruction, adapt resources, and plan student-centred learning
  • Co-teach or provide in-class support as appropriate to each stage and context
  • Contribute actively to Student Support meetings and participate in whole-school multidisciplinary problem-solving
  • Collaborate with our school counsellor, Speech & Language specialists, Occupational Therapists, and external professionals to coordinate cohesive support around each student
  • Act as a bridge between stages, supporting continuity of learning for students transitioning from Primary to Secondary
Documentation & Family Communication
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case notes, ILPs, and progress data across your caseload
  • Communicate proactively and sensitively with families, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s learning journey
  • Contribute to transition planning, helping students and families navigate changes between year groups and school stages
Professional & School Community
  • Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary to build an inclusive culture throughout the school
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning - we actively support development in areas such as neurodiversity, UDL, inquiry-based differentiation, and the IB learning framework
  • Contribute to BEPS' warm, reflective, and collaborative team culture - at BEPS, every moment is a learning moment

  • Experience collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills - clear, warm, and professional in all directions: student, teacher, parent, and specialist
  • Digitally confident, and open to exploring new tools to support learning (we use Toddle and Google Classroom)
  • Sound professional judgement, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality
Preferred
  • Experience in an international school environment, ideally working with multilingual learners
  • Familiarity with the IB MYP, IB Diploma Programme, or IB Career-related Programme
  • Knowledge of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) or International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC)

  • Genuinely student-centred - relationships are at the heart of everything you do
  • Adaptable and energised by the variety of working across a whole school
  • A collaborative spirit, at home in a close-knit and diverse community
  • Reflective, growth-minded, and committed to inclusive practice
