About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and internationally minded Secondary English Teacher to join our diverse learning community. In this flexible role, you will deliver high-quality English instruction across secondary year levels (11–18) while providing specialised EAL support to multilingual learners.

As an integral member of our teaching team, you will play a key role in maintaining curriculum continuity, promoting inquiry-based learning, and supporting students’ academic and personal growth in an inclusive, multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver engaging English lessons across secondary year levels while maintaining curriculum continuity.
• Plan, design, and implement high-quality BEPS and IB-aligned learning experiences grounded in inquiry.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning profiles and language needs.
• Provide targeted EAL instruction using differentiation, scaffolding, and formative assessment.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate, timely records.
• Foster inclusive learning environments that celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity.
• Demonstrate initiative and contribute actively to team-based planning and problem-solving.

Student Support

• Build positive, supportive relationships with students across age groups.
• Provide individual and small-group academic or language support where needed.
• Monitor student well-being and behaviour in accordance with school policies.
• Support students’ social-emotional development, intercultural competence, and personal growth.
• (Desirable) Offer insights or support related to student pathways, goal setting, or career interests.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with teaching teams to ensure consistent, coherent learning experiences.
• Collaborate effectively with EAL specialists, learning support colleagues, and coordinators.
• Maintain clear, respectful communication with parents regarding student progress.
• Participate in team meetings, including IB planning sessions and professional dialogues.

Professional Development

• Engage in continuous learning about IB pedagogy and best practices
• Participate in staff meetings, INSET days, and school-wide initiatives
• Contribute to policy development and school improvement initiatives
• Recognised teaching qualification and experience in international or diverse school settings.
• Experience in EAL instruction or a strong commitment to developing expertise.
• Ability and willingness to work across various secondary age groups (11–18).
• Strong intercultural competence and awareness of multilingual learning needs.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to inquiry-based learning and student-centred teaching.
• Desirable: Experience in career counselling, academic advising, or student guidance.
