Job summary

Alstom in Charleroi is seeking a Lead Software Architect to shape and deliver high‑impact software solutions for rail mobility. You will lead software component design, drive integration with hardware teams, and steer best practices across the development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with software architects, hardware designers, and QA to ensure robust, scalable systems while advancing continuous improvement and innovation. The role is on site in Charleroi with a dynamic, international team.

Qualifications

• Engineer Degree or Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Understanding of railway software development or secure software development (desirable).
• Knowledge of software architecture and component design.
• Familiarity with testing and verification processes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English; French desirable, German an asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering teams.
• Team management and leadership skills.
• Experience with concurrent engineering practices.
