Job summary

We ARE Renewables seeks a Chief Surveyor to lead all onboard survey operations for hydrographic and topographic surveys on offshore and dredging projects worldwide. You will manage the survey team, ensure data quality, and coordinate with vessel leadership and project stakeholders to deliver successful projects.

Requirements include a degree in a related field or equivalent experience, 10+ years in surveying, strong technical knowledge, hands-on offshore capability, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Hydrographic Surveying, Geophysics, Geology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• At least 10 years of experience in the survey industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of survey methods, equipment, and software.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate survey teams.
• Hands-on, offshore, remote environments experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support the onboard survey team.
• Plan and oversee all survey activities, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
• Monitor project progress using survey equipment and software, maintaining high operational standards.
• Deliver survey data and reports on time and to the highest quality.
• Communicate with Project Management, Client representatives, the Vessel Master, and crew.
• Collaborate with Captain, Chief Engineer, and OIM to achieve project objectives.
• Drive continuous improvements in survey operations, productivity, and performance.
