Michael Page International Belgium is seeking a Head of Accounting to lead the end-to-end accounting function and manage a three-person team. You will report to the head of finance and own month-end and year-end close while ensuring compliant financial reporting.

The role requires 7+ years in accounting, fluency in English and either French or Dutch, and strong VAT experience across Belgium and Europe. Dynamics 365 experience is a plus, with a focus on process improvement and AI automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting.
• Fluent in French or Dutch and English.
• Strong VAT compliance and multi-country VAT registrations.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead the accounting function and ensure compliant financial reporting.
• Own the month-end and year-end close process.
• Manage, coach, and develop the accounting team (3 reports).
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger.
• Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors.
• Oversee Belgian and European VAT compliance.
• Advise on accounting policies and complex transactions.
• Review reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and key journal entries.
• Improve processes, controls, and accounting procedures.
• Drive finance systems, automation, and AI initiatives.
