Job summary

Michael Page International (Belgium) is seeking a qualified accounting professional to join our team near Ternat. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will monitor operational expenses, oversee invoicing and purchase orders, and ensure VAT compliance.

You will support month-end and year-end close, perform variance analyses, and contribute to budgeting, forecasts, and audits. The role requires IFRS/local GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
• 4-5 years of accounting or financial reporting experience.
• Experience with SAP; S/4Hana knowledge is a strong asset.
• Fluent English; additional languages a plus.
• Knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP advantageous.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse operational expenses and project-related costs.
• Manage and oversee the invoice and purchase order cycle.
• Review accounting entries, allocations, and VAT-related controls.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Perform variance analysis and prepare financial reporting for stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Contribute to process improvements and finance-system enhancements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive transparency, efficiency and cost optimisation.
• Support knowledge-sharing within the finance team.
