Job summary

Michael Page Belgium is seeking an accounting leader for a Luxembourg-based client. You will supervise an accounting team, oversee month-end processes and ensure compliance with LuxGAAP and IFRS, while coordinating internal and external reporting.

You will work with international clients, support budgeting, VAT and corporate tax, and act as a primary contact for auditors. Fluent English is required; German or French is a plus. A collaborative, professional environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant finance or accounting experience in Luxembourg.
• Experience preparing consolidated financial statements under LuxGAAP.
• Technical accounting knowledge suitable for LuxGAAP and IFRS.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting obligations and compliance.
• Ability to guide colleagues, organise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clients, colleagues and advisers.
• Fluency in English; German or French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the accounting team, coordinate priorities and review deliverables to maintain quality and meet deadlines.
• Oversee daily bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, while remaining involved in operational accounting.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing cycles, ensuring compliance with LuxGAAP and IFRS.
• Prepare and review standalone and consolidated financial statements under LuxGAAP and IFRS, as applicable.
• Coordinate internal reporting, external financial disclosures and regulatory submissions.
• Contribute to budgeting, financial planning and the preparation of VAT and corporate tax information.
• Act as a key contact for auditors, organise supporting documentation and follow through on outstanding queries.
• Support treasury activities, including cash flow monitoring and liquidity planning.
• Check the completeness and reliability of financial records and ensure accounting policies are applied consistently.
• Contribute to accounting projects and improvements in reporting processes.
