Toyota Boshoku Corporation is seeking a Junior Evaluation Engineer to join the Evaluation Engineering Department in Europe. You will develop expertise in automotive seat performance evaluation and validation under guidance from the team.

The role is fully on-site in our laboratory near Zaventem. You will execute test plans, conduct tests per industry standards, report results, and contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (mechanical/industrial preferred).
• Experience in product evaluation is a plus.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Execute seat validation test plans based on engineering specifications and customer requirements.
• Conduct testing in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
• Report test results to related parties.
• Prepare test setups, instrumentation, fixtures, and data acquisition systems.
• Support plants/serial production on problem analysis and countermeasures for production issues.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met.
• Develop and improve test methods, procedures, and laboratory capabilities.
• Support laboratory safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Drive improvements in testing efficiency and data quality.
• Collaborate with TB Europe R&D and customers on evaluations and problem analysis.

As an Junior Evaluation Engineer, you will join the Evaluation Engineering Department where you - with the support of your team members - will develop yourself in the field of automotive seat performance evaluation and validation.

The Evaluation Engineering Department is responsible for coordination and execution of TB product evaluations for automotive seats of Europe and Africa region projects, cost reduction activities and serial production projects.

We are open to receiving applications from recent graduates.

This position is fully on-site and based in our laboratory.

A significant part of the role involves conducting and repeating tests according to established procedures to ensure consistency and quality.

We are looking for candidates who enjoy hands-on laboratory work, are detail-oriented, and are comfortable performing routine testing activities.

Tasks:

• Execute seat validation test plans based on engineering specifications and customer requirements.
• Conduct testing in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures
• Report test results to related parties.
• Prepare test setups, instrumentation, fixtures, and data acquisition systems.
• Support plants/serial production on problem analysis and support in developing countermeasures for serial production issues.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met.
• Develop and improve test methods, procedures, and laboratory capabilities.
• Support laboratory safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Drive improvements in testing efficiency, data quality, and reporting processes.
• Work and communicate closely with related parties (TBEU R&D, TB Japan and customer) in following up ongoing and planned evaluations and problem analysis.
• Contribute to lessons learned and best practice sharing across engineering teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering field, preferably in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• Experience in product evaluation or in product design is considered as an asset.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Valid driving licence is a plus
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• You have a hands-on mentality and able to work independently.
• You can adapt to the Japanese business culture.
• Advance knowledge of MS office.
