Guardsquare, based in Leuven, is seeking an Accountant to join the Finance team. You will support daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy under Belgian GAAP and VAT regulations to help keep the company financially healthy.

The role offers a temporary contract with potential to transition to permanent after 6 months, a hybrid work policy, and an international, diverse environment that values accuracy and initiative.

Qualificações

• Bachelor in Finance or Accountancy, or assimilated by experience.
• 0–2 years accounting experience; knowledge of Belgian GAAP and VAT.
• Strong English and good Dutch (spoken & written).
• Attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Proficient in MS Office; NetSuite/Salesforce a plus.

Responsabilidades

We are looking for an Accountantto join our Finance team in Leuven. In this role you will support the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be well versed in Belgian accounting principles and demonstrate strong numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition.

Responsibilities

AP accounting

• Register incoming invoices according to Belgian accounting and VAT principles and get them through the approval cycle;
• Payments of suppliers and reconciliation of outgoing payments;
• Review and register expense notes.

General accounting

• Book and reconcile bank statements;
• Register payroll bookings;
• Register fixed assets and book depreciations;
• Register prepaid expenses and provisions;
• Filing Belgian VAT returns;
• Register prepaid expenses and provisions.

Profile

• Bachelor in a relevant field (Finance, Accountancy) or assimilated by experience.
• 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience. A first professional experience is preferred, but strong recent graduates with relevant internship experience and a good understanding of Belgian GAAP and VAT are equally encouraged to apply.
• Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of Dutch (spoken & written).
• Great attention to detail.
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
• Good understanding of Belgian accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
• Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce is a plus.
