Job summary

BNP Paribas Fortis Architecture Department is driving the bank's digital transformation by shaping secure, scalable, and innovative cloud-native solutions. The team designs systems from cloud to core banking, ensuring performance and compliance while enabling Dev Engineers to deploy rapidly.

You will design and validate solutions, produce architecture documentation, and mentor teams on best practices in cloud-native design and automation.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in cloud-native apps with focus on scalability, resilience, observability.
• Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift experience.
• IBM Cloud Platform proficiency (Openshift, EventStream, COS, etc).
• DevOps toolchains (CI/CD, GitOps) and infrastructure automation.
• Modern Java frameworks (Spring Boot) integration with cloud-native ecosystems.
• Developer Experience: design/improve developer tools, platforms, workflows.
• Fluent in English; Dutch or French is a plus.

• Support other architects and development teams by providing guidance on scalable, resilient design patterns and cloud-native best practices.
• Demystify complex technical concepts (service mesh, continuous delivery, infrastructure automation) to ensure secure, performant, and developer-friendly solutions.

• You will design and validate solutions for development frameworks, platforms, and toolchains, enabling Dev Engineers to build and deploy scalable cloud-native applications.
• You will produce and maintain high-quality architecture documentation—including blueprints, solution architectures, and reference architectures—to ensure alignment with architectural standards, security policies, and business requirements.
• You will support other architects and development teams by providing expert guidance on scalable, resilient design patterns and cloud-native best practices.
• You will demystify complex technical concepts (e.g., service mesh, continuous delivery, infrastructure automation) to ensure solutions are secure, performant, and developer friendly.

YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES

• Cloud-Native Development: Deep expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native applications (microservices, containers) with a focus on scalability, resilience, and observability.
• Kubernetes & OpenShift: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift
• IBM Cloud Platform: Proficiency in IBM Cloud services (e.g., Openshift and other native IBM Cloud services like EventStream, COS,…)
• Toolchain & Automation: Strong background in DevOps toolchains (CI/CD pipelines, GitOps) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting) to streamline development and deployment workflows.
• Java Frameworks: Experience with modern Java frameworks (Spring Boot) and their integration with cloud-native ecosystems.
• Developer Experience (DevEx): Ability to design and improve developer tools, platforms, and workflows to enhance productivity, reduce friction, and foster adoption of cloud-native practices.
• You are fluent in English (oral and written). Basic knowledge of Dutch or French is an asset.
