Ask Athena is seeking a dedicated IT professional to support retail operations across Europe. You will act as the first contact for retail technology incidents and coordinate testing and deployments for new releases.

Responsibilities include monitoring retail systems, maintaining documentation, and aiding store activities during peak periods. A background in IT or retail technology and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Background in IT, Retail Technology, Business Systems or related field.
• Strong interest in retail operations and store technology.
• Familiar with POS systems, omnichannel processes and retail operations.
• Knowledge of SQL/ databases, APIs, scripting is a plus.
• Able to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Customer- and service oriented.
• Proactive, organized, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willing to support store activities outside normal business hours.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Work closely with store personnel, retail management and business stakeholders to support retail operations across Europe.

• Coordinate and follow up on new store openings, store relocations, refurbishments and related IT readiness activities.
• Support retail applications including POS, omnichannel, CRM, order management and payment solutions.
• Monitor retail systems and interfaces, proactively identifying issues before they impact stores.
• Work closely with internal IT teams and external partners to ensure operational continuity.
• Coordinate and execute testing.
• Deployment activities for new releases, enhancements and projects.
• Analyze recurring incidents and recommend structural improvements.
• Maintain clear operational documentation, knowledge articles and support procedures.
• Support business users during peak trading periods and major rollout activities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of retail processes, user experience and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will:

Applicants should ideally:

• Have a background in IT, Retail Technology, Business Systems or a related field.
• Have strong interest in retail operations and store technology.
• Be familiar with POS systems, omnichannel processes and retail business operations.
• Have knowledge of MS SQL Server/Oracle database, APIs, integrations, scripting (PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
• Have experience with monitoring, logging and support tooling.
• Be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Be highly customer and service oriented.
• Be proactive, organized and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Be willing to occasionally support store activities outside normal business hours.
• Be fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
