Responsabilités

• Lead and follow up IT projects, defining scope, planning and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Coordinate projects related to IT security, infrastructure, applications and compliance.
• Follow up IT security initiatives and ISO27K controls, including remediation.
• Perform hands-on business and IT analysis and translate requirements into solutions.
• Contribute to ITSM activities such as Change, Incident and Problem management.
• Prepare and maintain IT documentation using ARIS, Confluence and Office.
• Prepare project updates for PMO and steering committees.
• Coordinate external IT partners with Security, Architecture, Legal, Procurement and Risk.
• Own both large initiatives and smaller operational topics.

About the company:

Our client is active in the financial/insurance sector and is one of the leading international groups in its field. For their Corporate Centre in Brussels, we are looking for a freelance IT Project & Operations Manager.

The Corporate Centre Technology team is relatively small but operates at the heart of a large international organisation. This means team members typically wear multiple hats and combine larger project responsibilities with hands‑on operational and analytical work.

Job Description:

This is not a pure Project Management role.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable switching between the “big” and the “small”: leading and coordinating IT projects on the one hand, while personally taking ownership of analysis, documentation and operational IT activities on the other.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and follow up IT projects, defining scope, planning, priorities, risks and deliverables together with business and IT stakeholders
• Coordinate projects related to IT Security, infrastructure, applications, compliance and other Corporate Centre initiatives
• Follow up IT Security initiatives and ISO27K-related controls, including analysis, remediation actions and supporting documentation
• Perform hands‑on business and IT analysis and translate requirements into workable solutions
• Actively contribute to ITSM / run activities, including change, incident and problem management
• Prepare and maintain practical IT documentation using tools such as ARIS, Confluence and Office
• Prepare project reporting and updates for PMO, management and steering committees
• Coordinate external IT partners and collaborate with teams such as Security, Architecture, Legal, Procurement and Risk
• Take ownership of both larger initiatives and smaller operational topics that simply need to get done

Job Requirements:

We are primarily looking for the right mindset and breadth of experience, rather than a specific number of years.

• Proven experience in IT Project Management – either as a senior profile or a strong medior who has already demonstrated ownership and potential
• You genuinely enjoy combining project management with hands‑on execution
• Strong analytical skills and sufficient technical IT affinity to understand and challenge IT topics
• Experience or strong affinity with IT Security, risk and ISO27K / security controls
• Familiarity with ITSM processes, such as Change, Incident and Problem Management
• Comfortable producing and maintaining analysis, process and technical documentation
• Able to work autonomously and pro‑actively pick up topics, without waiting for every next step to be defined
• Comfortable working with business stakeholders, technical specialists, vendors and senior management
• Broad interest across different Business & IT domains and comfortable wearing multiple hats
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
