D-Network is seeking an IT Engineering Manager for an international healthcare technology company based in Mechelen. The role leads teams within the desktop software platforms group during a major modernisation phase.

You will recruit, mentor and align teams to deliver reliable, compliant clinical software across sites in Europe and beyond, while shaping the organisation's engineering standards and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience including at least 3 years in engineering leadership or people-management roles.
• Proven track record leading teams that deliver complex, long-lived production software where reliability, quality and risk management are critical.
• Strong people-leadership skills: hiring, coaching, feedback and performance management.
• Solid technical foundation, allowing you to engage credibly with architects and senior engineers.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automation, DevOps.
• Comfortable operating in a global, multi-site organisation.
• Clear communicator with sound judgment, ownership and calm leadership under pressure.
• Strong plus: experience in medical devices, healthcare or another regulated, safety-critical or quality-driven environment.

• Recruit, lead and develop high-performing engineering teams building clinical desktop software.
• Bring clarity and stability to a complex, regulated environment.
• Secure predictable delivery through disciplined planning and early risk identification.
• Raise engineering standards across CI/CD, testing, documentation and quality practices.
• Ensure compliance with architectural patterns and regulatory expectations.
• Work closely with Architecture, DevOps, QA, Regulatory, Product and Delivery teams.
• Drive continuous improvement while reducing technical debt and legacy complexity.
• Foster a culture where quality, safety and accountability are the default.
