MindCapture is offering a consultancy role in Brussels for a medior specialist to support the implementation of an automated laboratory platform and ensure readiness across the workflow.

You will work on integration between instruments, middleware and LIMS, test interfaces, support validation, and collaborate with IT, lab and vendor teams on site.

Qualifications

• Experience with laboratory automation, instrument integration, LIMS, middleware or clinical laboratory IT systems.
• Understanding of how laboratory instruments, middleware and LIMS systems interact.
• Experience with interface configuration, testing, troubleshooting and/or validation.
• Comfortable working in a regulated laboratory or healthcare environment.
• Ability to work with IT, lab users, quality teams and external vendors.
• Hands-on, analytical, pragmatic and able to work independently.

• Stakeholder coordination: Collaborate with IT, laboratory, quality and external vendor teams.
• Systems integration: Connect laboratory instruments, middleware and the LIMS environment.
• Interface testing: Configure and test bidirectional communication between middleware and LIMS.
• Workflow support: Enable test order transmission to the automated laboratory platform.
• Data processing: Support results, flags, traceability information and sample location data.
• Rule configuration: Configure validation holds, repeat testing, dilutions and reflex testing.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve interface, connectivity and automated workflow issues.
• Validation support: Prepare documentation and evidence according to applicable quality standards.
• Implementation support: Contribute to timely implementation and future instrument integrations.

Support the implementation and readiness of a new automated laboratory platform.

Our client is introducing an automated solution for processing clinical chemistry and haematology samples. The environment covers sample loading, centrifugation, sorting, transport to analytical instruments, storage and archiving. You will help establish reliable communication between instruments, middleware and LIMS while supporting testing, troubleshooting, validation and operational implementation. Following the initial implementation, you may contribute to further laboratory instrument integration projects.

Required competences & skills

• You have experience with laboratory automation, instrument integration, LIMS, middleware or clinical laboratory IT systems.
• You understand how laboratory instruments, middleware and LIMS systems interact.
• You have experience with interface configuration, testing, troubleshooting and/or validation.
• You are comfortable working in a regulated laboratory or healthcare environment.
• You can work with different stakeholders, including IT, lab users, quality teams and external vendors.
• You are hands‑on, analytical, pragmatic and able to work independently.
• You are flexible in terms of workload, as the initial phase may require either full-time or part‑time support depending on project planning and vendor availability.
