Job summary

Minds&More seeks an Interim Procurement Officer to join the Brussels-headquartered team for an industrial client. You will manage purchasing of goods, materials, equipment and services for operations, maintenance and projects in an industrial setting.

You will lead tender processes, negotiate favorable terms, analyze internal needs, and shape a long-term purchasing plan with strong contractual drafting and ERP experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Applied Economics or similar field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an industrial environment.
• Experience in negotiations and contract drafting is required.
• Knowledge of public procurement procedures is a plus.
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems (SAP, Coupa) is an asset.
• Strong drafting skills; comfortable with contractual texts.
• Proactive, assertive, diplomatic and solution oriented.

Interim Procurement Officer, Brussels

About the assignment

For one of our clients, a leading Belgian company in the energy sector, we are looking for an interim Procurement Officer. You will be part of the Procurement department at the head office in Brussels and will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, equipment and services for operations, maintenance and industrial projects within an industrial environment.

What will you do?

• Guide the tendering process from start to finish, with your contribution varying according to the complexity of each file
• Apply an appropriate negotiation strategy to secure the most favorable solution for the organization
• Identify the purchasing needs of internal customers in good time, based on data analysis and regular contact
• Create sufficient market openness: challenge internal demand and describe it as accurately as possible, while developing market interest in a timely manner
• Update technical and commercial specifications in line with the desired outcome
• Manage ongoing contracts throughout their duration (claims, potential renegotiations, etc.) in consultation with internal customers
• Define and develop a long-term vision for purchasing specific categories of goods and services (purchasing plan)

Your profile

• You hold a master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Applied Economics or a similar field
• You have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an industrial environment
• You have experience in negotiations
• Knowledge of public procurement procedures is a plus
• Experience with technical purchasing is an asset
• Experience with ERP or procurement systems (such as SAP or Coupa) is an asset
• You have strong drafting skills and are comfortable working with contractual texts
• You are proactive, assertive, diplomatic and solution-oriented
• You are a team player, well organized and resilient under pressure
• You are fluent in Dutch and French and have a good command of English
• You are proficient in MS Office and office tools
