Medior / Senior Test Engineer – Insurance

For a long-term IT assignment within the insurance sector, we are looking for an experienced Test Engineer at medior or senior level.

Your Responsibilities

• Contribute to defining the overall testing approach and translate project requirements into an appropriate test strategy.
• Review requirements, functional documentation and technical specifications to identify the necessary testing activities.
• Design detailed test scenarios and test cases, and ensure that test execution and results are properly documented.
• Perform different types of testing, including functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Identify, document and analyse software defects and inconsistencies in a structured manner.
• Work closely with developers and analysts to clarify, follow up and retest issues once they have been resolved.
• Support business users throughout the User Acceptance Testing phase and assist them during validation activities.
• Provide clear reporting on testing progress, results, outstanding issues and potential quality risks.
• Organise and monitor your own testing activities, including workload estimation and planning.
• Contribute to improving testing processes, methodologies and tools.
• Maintain close collaboration with IT and business stakeholders to ensure that delivered solutions meet the expected quality standards.

Your Experience

• You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or have an equivalent level of professional experience.
• You have at least 3 years of professional experience in software testing, for example as a Test Engineer, Software Tester or in a comparable position.
• Medior profiles should have at least 3 years of experience, while senior profiles should have at least 5 years.
• Professional experience within the insurance sector is mandatory.
• Previous exposure to Non-Life / P&C insurance is considered a strong asset.
• You have solid experience in functional and manual testing.
• You are familiar with regression, integration and user acceptance testing.
• You are able to analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into clear and relevant test cases.
• You have experience with defect logging, analysis and follow-up.
• You have worked with Azure DevOps Test Plans or a comparable test management solution.
• You understand the key principles and stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• You have experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience with test automation is an advantage, but is not mandatory.

Languages

• Dutch: excellent written and spoken proficiency – mandatory.
• French: good understanding, both written and spoken, is required. Active fluency in French is considered an asset.
• English: good professional working proficiency.
• You are comfortable working in a multilingual environment.
