Job summary

Agfa in Mortsel, Belgium, seeks a Senior Chemist for Chemical Process Development to translate concepts into industrially scalable processes. You will balance experimental design with lab oversight, data analysis and reporting while coordinating multiple projects and ensuring safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, knowledge transfer to production, and ongoing involvement with process technologies and chemical synthesis, with travel about 10%.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in organic or polymer chemistry with lab experience.
• Proactive hands-on lab approach and interest in process technologies.
• Fluent communication in Dutch and English, willingness to learn Dutch.
• Occasional travel of ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, cost-efficient chemical processes.
• Plan experimental programs guided by data and results.
• Coordinate lab scheduling, execution, analysis and reporting.
• Introduce technologies to move from lab to production.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues and transfer processes.
• Oversee multiple projects and manage critical cases.
• Present findings clearly to stakeholders and ensure EHS compliance.
