Job summary

BIG WATER CONSULTING (BWC) is seeking a Splunk and Linux System Engineer for a client in Brussels. This full-time permanent role offers a hybrid work model in Belgium (50% onsite, 50% remote) with potential freelance applications.

You will manage Splunk environments, Linux systems (RHEL), and automation pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and platform performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of IT Operations experience with Linux-based infra in large environments.
• At least 2 years hands-on Splunk admin in production.
• Proficiency in Dutch or French and English.
• Strong Linux (RHEL) lifecycle, patching, troubleshooting and tuning.
• Experience in Splunk data onboarding, forwarders, indexes, sourcetypes, dashboards, reports and alerts.
• SPL knowledge for searches, dashboards, field extraction, alerting and RCA.
• Experience with Splunk Universal/Heavy Forwarders and data ingestion methods.
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, playbooks, roles and workflows.
• Scripting in Bash and/or Python for automation and monitoring.
