Job summary

Brainbridge IT Staffing is seeking an experienced Linux & Splunk System Engineer for a Leuven-based enterprise client. You will maintain and enhance Linux infrastructure and Splunk services across a large-scale environment.

You will troubleshoot incidents, automate tasks with Ansible, and contribute to monitoring, data onboarding, and platform improvements. Proficiency in Dutch or French and English is preferred, with a strong focus on reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Linux infrastructure experience in enterprise environments.
• At least 2 years hands-on Splunk administration.
• Strong knowledge of RHEL and Linux troubleshooting.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, patching and lifecycle management.
• Splunk administration including Universal/Heavy Forwarders, SPL, dashboards, alerts and reporting.
• Experience with Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Familiar with GitLab or Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Professional English; Dutch or French language skills desired.

Brainbridge IT Staffing is currently looking for an experienced Linux & Splunk System Engineer for one of our enterprise clients in Leuven. This position combines hands-on Linux infrastructure management with Splunk platform engineering in a large-scale, mission-critical environment. We are looking for a technically strong professional who enjoys troubleshooting, automation, monitoring, and continuously improving operational platforms.

Your Role

As a Linux & Splunk System Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing Linux-based infrastructure and Splunk services used across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Linux infrastructure and Splunk platforms in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Execute maintenance, upgrades, patching and platform changes.
• Design, implement and optimize Splunk solutions, data integrations and monitoring capabilities.
• Configure and maintain Splunk Forwarders, indexes, sourcetypes, dashboards, alerts and reporting.
• Improve platform performance, security, reliability and data quality.
• Develop automation solutions using Ansible, scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.

Your Profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience with Linux infrastructure in enterprise environments.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Splunk administration experience.
• Strong experience with RHEL, Linux troubleshooting and platform support.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, patching and lifecycle management.
• Solid knowledge of Splunk administration, including: Universal & Heavy Forwarders, SPL, Dashboards alerts and reporting, Indexes, sourcetypes and data onboarding
• Experience with Ansible, Infrastructure-as-Code and automation.
• Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
• Familiarity with GitLab, Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Professional knowledge of Dutch or French and English.
