Elia Group Belgium is seeking an experienced protection configuration specialist to join the Settings & Software Interfaces team. You will configure, validate and improve protection, automation and control systems (SPACS) on the high‑voltage grid, drawing on your IED expertise to ensure quality and consistency in the field.

You will work with engineering, project management, commissioning and operations teams to develop solutions that enhance grid reliability, safety and the energy

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical protection, commissioning or related activities.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in electricity, electronics or electromechanics.
• Knowledge of protection systems and protection software (Digsi, MiCOM Agile, ASR or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Analytical mindset to tackle complex technical issues.
• Ability to work in teams and independently; strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Proficiency in at least one national language (French or Dutch) as native language, with willingness to learn the other; English is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Configure the IEDs used in protection cabinets based on electrical and logic diagrams.
• Adapt and customise configuration standards for HV grid applications.
• Perform quality controls and ensure configurations align with Elia protection concepts.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and support testing teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of technical standards with feedback.
