Zero Friction, a fast-growing SaaS scale-up in Belgium, seeks an HR Manager to own the full employee journey for 25 staff—from recruitment and onboarding to payroll, contracts and compliance.

You will build scalable HR processes, run onboarding and offboarding, manage reviews and engagement, and ensure Belgian payroll with our secretariat while supporting the UK team.

We are looking for an experienced, fulltime HR Manager to be the go-to person for HR at Zero Friction, from A to Z. With a team of 25, you'll own the full employee journey end-to-end: from recruitment, onboarding, payroll, contracts, compliance, performance and engagement. This is a broad, hands-on role with a strong administrative and process backbone: you'll make sure the \"hard\" side of HR runs like clockwork, while also helping our people and culture keep thriving as we grow.

As our HR Manager, you're the person who makes sure HR runs smoothly from A to Z, for a team of 25 that's still growing. The heart of the role is hard HR: payroll, contracts, compliance and policies, and on top of that, you're closely involved in bringing new people on board and helping make Zero Friction a good place to work day to day. Your responsibilities include:

• Own accurate, on-time payroll for our Belgian team together with our social secretariat, and oversee payroll for our small UK team, including administering salary packages, benefits and fleet

• Keep employment contracts and personnel records accurate and up to date in Officient

• Make sure we stay compliant with Belgian employment law, and keep an eye on the essentials for our UK team

• Develop, maintain and communicate clear HR policies, an employee handbook, and consistent processes that scale with the company

• Run the recruitment process together with our managers, from opening a role to a signed contract

• Own a consistent, welcoming onboarding experience and a professional offboarding process

• Run the performance-review cycle and support learning and development across teams

• Keep an eye on engagement, wellbeing and culture, and organize the afterworks and teambuildings that bring the team together

• Keep our office running smoothly (Skyline view over Ghent included)

Does this sound like you?

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or senior HR generalist, with hard HR (payroll, employment contracts, Belgian labor law, compensation and benefits) as your main strength

• Solid capability in soft HR too: recruitment, onboarding, performance management and engagement

• Highly organized and detail-focused, with discretion around sensitive data

• A clear, approachable communicator, comfortable explaining things one-on-one, presenting in team meetings, or getting everyone informed for the next teambuilding

• Fluent in Dutch and English

Bonus points

• Experience in a scaling organization, so you know how to build and improve HR processes as headcount grows, not just maintain them

• Awareness of UK employment practices, given our small UK team

• Familiarity with our main HR tools: Recruitee, Notion and Officient

• Fluent in French
