Zusammenfassung

Septentrio in Leuven is seeking a Hardware Product Innovation Intern to help shape next‑gen GPS/GNSS hardware and open‑source integration for robotics. You will design high‑level hardware/software concepts, prototype ideas, and document APIs to enable community adoption; collaborate with NVIDIA SDK, Raspberry Pi, and automotive sensing work.

You will gather requirements, explore ecosystems, evaluate designs, and deliver an intuitive, cost-conscious system ready for open‑source collaboration.

Qualifikationen

• You study Electrical/Electronics, Robotics or Mechatronics Engineering or Software Engineering with hardware affinity.
• Good hands-on HW design (basic PCB design, layout) and basic Linux/Windows programming experience.
• Creative, design-oriented, independent and innovative in task execution.
• Experience with NVIDIA and Raspberry or Autonomous vehicles or Sensor fusion.
• GNSS experience or PCB/3D mechanical box experience is a plus.

Aufgaben

• You will gather general requirements and propose a new hardware product idea for robotics.
• You will become familiar with the ecosystem (NVIDIA SDK, Raspberry Pi, etc.) for integration.
• You will evaluate potential vendors and existing designs to harvest best ideas.
• You will design a high-level system integration to enable open-source HW/SW projects.
• You will identify required software elements and design with a cost-minded approach.
• You will prototype the idea with electronics design, 3D printing, or fabrication and document fully.
• You will publish the design online to enable community adoption and ensure an intuitive final solution.
