Location: Leuven, Belgium

Mantis Robotics is building the fastest and safest industrial robots that can work safely with people, to make robotic automation accessible to anyone wanting to automate a manual task. We are seeking a motivated student to join our sensor development team in Leuven, Belgium. The selected candidate will participate in various R&D tasks related to the design of a sensor module in the context of Human Robot Interactions.

This position is open for internships with a duration of minimum 3 months or part-time student job that would require the candidate to be available 14 hrs/week.

Core Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to participate in testing an early prototype of a sensing module, including to set up the test environment, write embedded software, perform data collection and post-processing. In order to realize our objectives, we expect you to:

• Design and implement drivers and algorithms to run and post-process sensor data
• Set up hardware and debug independently using lab tools
• Evaluate performances and provide critical thinking
• Iterate and react fast to requirement changes

Qualifications

• BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S STUDENT IN A RELATED ENGINEERING FIELD, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, EMBEDDED SYSTEMS, COMPUTER SCIENCE, OR SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
• PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE WITH MICROCONTROLLERS (STM32, TI, …)
• HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN C OR C++
• STRONG WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN ENGLISH

Preferred

• Experience with python
• Experience with version control tools such as GIT, SVN
• Hands-on experience with industrial robots
