VIB Center for Cancer Biology (CCB) and KU Leuven's Department of Oncology seek a group leader/professor in Cancer Biology focused on cross-talk between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment. You will lead a translational program bridging VIB and KU Leuven, leveraging cutting-edge omics and innovative models to translate findings into improved cancer therapies.

The role requires a PhD in biomedical sciences, a strong publication record, leadership and international collaboration

Qualifications

• PhD in the field of Biomedical Sciences or related area.
• Publications in international journals and conferences demonstrating research quality.
• Interest in outreach and contributing to a scientific environment.
• Interdisciplinary mindset and broad collaboration across centers and industry.

Responsabilités

• Lead a ground-breaking scientific program addressing basic research with translational potential.
• Build bridges between VIB, KU Leuven, other academic centers and industry.
• Focus on omics technologies with oncology and patient-centered relevance.
• Develop novel models (3D tumoroids, in vivo models) to test clinical relevance.
• Special focus on a cancer indication and tumor microenvironment interactions.
